| Case in point of the fun of wine and a story to every bottle. I bought these bottles back around 1996 from the producer out of the back of his truck where he had set up a mini farmers market along the road in Walldorf near Heidelberg (while visiting you can imagine who). He was set up over by the hotel along the motorway across the vegetable field from SAP world HQ complex. These bottles were the only ones he had from these vintages. | |

This one exceeded expectations which matched the occasion - NY's eve tenderloin and lobster dinner at home. Pulled out this 1990 to try - Alec's vintage year - partly to celebrate his outstanding achievements this past year. Rich unctuous wine - almost syrupy - subtle apricot, sweet apple and lemony citrus with a touch of smoke. | |
