Feb 8, 2006 - Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Meritage 1996 - WS 92 RM 88 - Dark black fruit is overpowered by cassis and hint of leather and anise.

Jan 22, 2006 - Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Tapestry Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1998 - RM 92 - Complex, full bodied with currant, cherry, a hint of plum, and sweet oak on a smooth tannin finish.

Feb 10, 2005 - Beaulieu Vineyard Napa Valley Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 - WS 90 Spectator Selection - RM 88 Interesting essence and taste of tea, gives way to subdued currant, plum turning to dark cherry returning to essence of tea on the finish.

Dec 24, 2004 - Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry Reserve Napa Valley 1995 - WS 91 Spectator Selection, RM 91 - Smooth polished currant, blackberry, a hint of plum and sage with subtle tar notes and fine integrated tannins on the long full finish. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot.

Oct 27, 2004 - - Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 - WS 92 Spectator Selection - RM 86 $15 (1995) Smoke aromas and tastes of smoky earthy currant, berry and plum with a long aftertaste and finish of earthy berry. Probably past its prime but still tasty.

Sept 18, 2004 - Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 - WS 92 Spectator Selection - RM 88 - One from my cellar collection of 1994 Napa cab's. Hopefully I haven't kept them too long. This one is still full of currant, dark berry and plum fruit albeit giving way to a predominant smoky cassis flavor and a tannic finish.

July 24, 2004 - Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 - RM 86 WS 90 Spectator Selection - $15 release price - Earthy aroma gives way to a black berry, black cherry, plum with smoky cedar and anise on a tight firm tannic finish.

Mar 21, 2004 - Beaulieu Vineyard Napa Valley Tapestry Reserve 1994 - RM 90 WS 91 WS Spectator Selection, $20 - Napa grown Bordeaux-style blend, Tightly integrated - earth and hint of tar on the front give way to currant, plum and spicy cherry flavors with a big long earthy spice finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Tastes like a mature right-bank Bordeaux!!

Aug 19, 2003 - Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Reserve Tapestry 1999 - RM 90, $38 (Label) Lighter more delicate and polished wine that was slightly overpowered by the forward and full Balmoral and Parraduxx - an unfair test so I'll save this review for another tasting!

April 7, 2003 Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry Reserve 1997; RM 91 $36 One of my perennial favorites - blackberry, cherry and clove. Balanced full fruit. Web. Label. Served these to our friends Emma and Chris visiting from the UK. Gave them a taste of classic American wines. Also introduced Chris to the Ahso and sent him back with one. He'll be the hit of County Durham! Cheers.

Aug 18, 2002 - Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry Reserve 1998; RM 91 $36 WS 91 RM 92 One of my perennial favorites. Flavorful, full bodied, fruity, polished - black cherry, currant, soft tannins, a hint of cassis and chocolate. Web. Label.

26 July 2002 - BV Georges de Latour Cabernet Private Reserve 1998 - WS 90-04 WA 88 RM 90 $ 40 Mineral, pepper with anise overpowers the scents of black-cherry. Polished and bold but a bit grassy. Deep discounts due to the off vintage make this an 'affordable' wine (relative to normal $80+) and decent price point. Web.

Oct 7, 2001 - 1994 Beaulieu Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon ($20) (WS RM 91) Rewards from the cellar - Flavorful cherry, berry, olive and oak. This was a great value upon release but dont expect to find it east of the rockies!

Mar 19, 2001 - 1997 BV Tapestry - (see my earlier reviews below of these - some of my favorite wines.) - What a trio of great wines from T Cook's WS Award of Excellence wine list! The Craig was over-powered early by the dueling fruit bombs but opened up eventually to reveal full rich tight but soft on the finish cherry, berry, and spicy chocolate.
