Bob was
staff pianist for the NBC/ABC network orchestra and played for a host of
shows like Dave Garroway, Mike Douglas, and Gary Moore. He backed up
Lester Young, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Woody
Herman, Harry James, and Mel Torme. He had the "house" trio at Chicago's
Mr. Kellys and the Pump Room where he backed musicians such as Barbara
Streisand and Carmen McRae. He is also a prolific composer with many
compositions to his credit recorded by other great artists.

On June 16
and 17, 2004,
The
CAVALCADE Of MUSIC FOUNDATION
and
BLUJAZZ Records brought
some of the world's finest musicians together in New York City to create
a musical project and this CD. Notable greats
Diane Delin,
Lew Soloff,
Ed Thigpen,
Frank Wess, and
George Mraz appear on the
CD featuring several tracks authored by Bob Acri. Lew Soloff can be
remembered for his work with Manhattan Jazz Quintet and Blood Sweat
and Tears. |

Frank Wess is known for his long stint with Count Basie, Diane Delin for the
Frank Sinatra Orchestra, George Mraz
for recording with Joe Lovano and
Ella Fitzgerald, and Ed Thigpen for his work with the Oscar Peterson
Trio and Ella Fitzgerald.
This CD was engineered by five time
Grammy
winner, Jim Anderson. Liner notes are by Neil Tesser - author of
"The
Playboy Guide To Jazz."
All proceeds from the sale of this CD benefit The CAVALCADE Of MUSIC
FOUNDATION, a not for profit charitable organization that provides free
seminars on the Business Of Music to college and university music
students, as well as working professionals in the music and related
fields.
