Andrew J. "Flip" Filipowski has dominated the limelight in the creation and promotion of divine interVentures inc., the Lisle-based Internet holding company heading for an initial public share offering.

Divine's day-to-day operations are handled by an inner circle that Filipowski recruited from his old company, PLATINUM technology inc., the Oakbrook Terrace corporate infrastructure software company, along with some new faces. Filipowski sold PLATINUM last year for $3.6 billion.

Divine declined to make its management available for interviews because of the company's pending IPO. The following information was drawn from divine's Securities and Exchange Commission records and other documents:

* Scott Hartkopf, 42, president and chief operating officer. Before joining divine, he was president and chief executive of Brayton International, a subsidiary of Steelcase Inc. He previously was vice president of marketing strategies for Price Waterhouse's Management Horizons consulting practice.

* Michael Cullinane, 50, executive president and chief financial officer. He was chief financial officer at PLATINUM. He held a similar role in an earlier Filipowski company, DBMS Inc. He also was a managing director of Platinum Venture Partners, Filipowski's venture capital investment firm specializing in tech start-ups.

* Paul Humenansky, 42, president of partner development. He was chief operations officer at PLATINUM, product manager at DBMS, and a managing director at Platinum Venture Partners. He founded Digital Schoolhouse, an educational program that provides inner-city children with hands-on computer and Internet training.

* Tom Thornton, 34, managing partner. Before joining divine, Thornton was president and chief executive of the Illinois Coalition, the public-private partnership that promotes the state's technology economy. He developed and managed the Technology Development Bridge Fund, the seed-stage venture investment fund.

* Doug Allen, 36, senior vice president and general manager, services, who is in charge of managing deal flow and providing financial services for partner companies. He had been vice president of finance at PLATINUM technology.

* Larry Freedman, 36, executive vice president and general counsel and president of Justice divine, the company's legal services company. He was senior vice president and general counsel at PLATINUM.

* Dana Sacks, 39, vice president of human resources at divine and president of Talent divine, the human resources and recruiting service for the divine family. She was vice president of compensation and benefits at PLATINUM.
