Atmosphere is funky, bohemian, but fun, warm, casual
and comfortable - the room is dark, warm with soft booth seats,
or hard wood chairs at the tables, dark walls, high tin-type
ceilings, a wall of windows on the front. There is an array of dining areas
- the bar which offers its own variations of ala carte dining with ample dining
or bar seating, and the main dining room adjacent, with booths, tables or
its own dining counter. There is also a dining room/table in a wine-cellar
atmosphere due to a a wall of wine racks that separate the dining room from
this cellar room for a 'private' party. Off the beaten
track and a bit difficult to find if you don't know the area. There is a
limited on-site parking - arranged parking in commercial center across the
street after hours.
Atmosphere - 3.75/5
Food - Menu (classic America) offers a creative and
focused selection of appetizers and salads and a broad selection
of well crafted dishes - seafood, beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and duck. Portions
are
adequate. The selections are carefully prepared and stylishly presented.
Everything we've tried was excellent. Its definitely a sophisticated and
wine friendly, wine oriented menu. There is also a nice selection of
artisanal cheeses.
Food - 4/5
Wine - There is a broad extensive Winelist
featuring over 350 wines
by the bottle
and more than 70 wines available by the glass - American - north and south -
California and northwest, - cabs and pinot's - Italian, some Australian,
some French - primarily Rhone reflecting its mostly budget oriented. All
price ranges are represented with a few selections high end selections
including three Harlan vintages and Quilceda Creek. Mostly broad rather then
deep offering.
Wine - 4.25/5
Service is generally professional and adequate - dont
expect a platoon of folks hovering or roaming to refill the water at every
turn.
