PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

PLAYOFF PERFORMER The St. Francis football roster doesn't do Dave Ryan justice. Listed at 5 feet 5 inches and 170 pounds, Ryan plays much bigger. In the Spartans' 21-6 second-round win over Hillsboro, Ryan rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, the Spartans junior added an interception in the second half to help preserve the win. MAGIC NUMBER number: 6 Consecutive incompletions thrown by Naperville Central quarterback Phil Horvath over a 12-minute span in Saturday's win against New Trier. Horvath shook off the slump and completed three straight passes for 56 yards on the Redhawks' final drive. The junior signal caller iced the win with a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:10 to play.
